Metro Referral Associates would like to share important information on license expiration dates and the extensions provided by each state in our market in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
Please refer to your state of license below for more detailed information.
Maryland http://www.dllr.maryland.gov/license/mrec/
The expiration date of each Covered Authorization is extended to the 30th day after the date by which the state of emergency is terminated, and the catastrophic health emergency is rescinded. You are encouraged to continue taking your continuing education courses, renewing your licenses online, and performing all other activities that are required for your license to the extent that you are able.
Virginia http://www.dpor.virginia.gov/Boards/Real-Estate/
Some licenses are affected as follows: The validity of the license, certification, or registration has been extended until 30 days after the date in which the state of emergency (Executive Order 51) is lifted. Please check your license status at http://www.dpor.virginia.gov/LicenseLookup/
Delaware https://dprfiles.delaware.gov/realestate/CE_Deadline_Extension_Letter.pdf
License renewal dates will remain the same. License renewal is accomplished online, and no profession requires licensees to report to the Division in person. If you have technical difficulty renewing online, contact the Division by telephone at (302) 744-4500.
When completing your online renewal, the continuing education attestation page will ask if you have been unable to complete your required continuing education due to the Governor’s declared state of emergency. Any licensee who attests that s/he has had difficulty completing CEs before renewal due to the declared state of emergency will be immediately granted additional time to complete their CEs. If the declared state of emergency has impacted your ability to complete your CEs, you will be given until 60 days after the lifting of the state of emergency to complete your CEs for this renewal cycle.

Renewal Deadline Extension: Under the State Real Estate Commission, renewal deadlines for all license types will be extended from May 31, 2020, to August 29, 2020. The CE renewal cycle has also been extended to August 29, 2020. You must complete 14 hours of CE, including the required mandatory topics if applicable, between June 1, 2018, and August 29, 2020, to meet the requirements. The next CE cycle will begin August 30, 2020, and extend to May 31, 2022.

There continue to be many questions about CE courses. As always you can find an approved listing of classes at this link https://rec.wv.gov/Education/Pages/Continuing-Education.aspx. The WVAR and other organizations will be providing CE classes via Zoom shortly. This solution will allow many licensees to gain CE credit in a virtual setting with an instructor and proctor. Information on how to sign up for classes should be coming to you from the providers soon.
Renewal notification letters were mailed on April 9, 2020. You should have already started to receive them. The commission does not intend to push back or extend the 2021 renewal period, which begins on May 1, 2020.
