In June, many of our offices celebrated the company’s 22nd Community Service Day. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects, including food drives, park clean-ups and more.
Here are a few highlights from this year’s Community Service Day Projects.
Severna Park, Md., office: Volunteered for a food pantry and emergency services provider in Severna Park that helps with emergency situations such as hunger, utility turn-offs, court-ordered evictions, and prescription/medical needs.
Devon, Pa., office: Assisted with the Devon Horse Show, which includes a county fair, benefiting the Bryn Mawr Hospital, which has raised and donated $18 million to-date. The county fair offers world-class shopping, rides, games, multiple dining options and special entertainment events.
Oceanfront & Coastal Properties office: Assisted with maintaining the grounds and quarters of LZ-Grace, which provides a place of respite for military veterans and their families.
Bel Air, Md., office: Helped to maintain the grounds of the historic Jerusalem Mill Village, headquarters of the Gunpowder Falls State Park. The mill and numerous outbuildings, including a Revolutionary War gun shop, are maintained by the Friends of Jerusalem Mill volunteers.
Bethesda All Points, Md., office: Team members volunteered at A Wider Circle, which provides beds, furniture, housewares, professional clothing, and other basic essentials, free of cost to families in need, who are transitioning out of shelters, or escaping domestic violence in the area.
Media, Pa., office: Hosted a blood drive for the American Red Cross. With 28 donors, 22 units of blood were collected, which will help 66 people.
Bethany Beach office: Organized a Dine and Donate event with a silent auction at a local restaurant to benefit the Fisher House Foundation in Dover, Delaware. Fisher House is a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.
