Metro Referral Associates Allows You to Keep Your License While Stepping Back from Selling

Many agents go through periods where they’re unsure if they want to keep their license, whether it’s because they have a second job, are taking care of a family member, retiring or another reason. For those who aren’t yet ready to hang up their license, Metro Referral Associates is an option.

An affiliate of The Long & Foster Companies, Metro Referral Associates provides licensed real estate agents with the ability to keep their license on an active referral status. The real estate professionals with Metro Referral Associates connect their clients with a receiving agent/broker who then shares the proceeds from the transaction.

Metro Referral Associates can place referrals both locally and nationally, and members can refer residential and commercial real estate clients, as well as entire companies and organizations. Nationally placed referrals are processed through the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World (LeadingRE).

The cost of joining Metro Referral Associates is the $99 annual membership fee. There are no errors and omission insurance fees, no MLS dues, no lockbox fees and no Realtor fees required. The only other agent costs involved are the fee to renew your license with your state or jurisdiction when needed, and continuing education courses as required.

There are Metro Referral Associates in seven states and the District of Columbia, and agents who have joined Metro Referrals have access to discounts offered by The Long & Foster Companies. The Metro Referral Associates office has services to help its associates begin and grow their referral business online, and they provide personal assistance whenever questions arise.
