Metro Referral Associates, an affiliate of The Long & Foster Companies, was established approximately 30 years ago by Wes Foster, and it maintains an average of 2,400 agents. It is designed for agents who would like to keep their license on an active referral status.
Who is a Metro Referral Associate?
Metro Referral Associates are real estate agents who no longer wish to practice active real estate home listings and sales. Here are some of the reasons that an agent chooses to join Metro Referral Associates:
- They would like to retire from the business
- They no longer would like to pay the fees related to being a real estate agent
- They do not have enough time for real estate given other responsibilities (for example, taking care of a child or family member)
When can referrals be placed?
When a Metro Referral Associate knows someone who would like to rent, list or sell real estate, they can refer that individual via the network. The Metro Referral Associate simply completes the customer/client referral form and sends it into the Metro Referral office by fax, email or U.S. mail for posting to the Metro system for disbursement.
Where can referrals be placed?
Referrals can be placed anywhere in the United States. If the associate does not know a receiving agent, the Metro Referral office will be able to locate an agent through the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World to manage the referral. If the Metro Referral Associate knows a sale associate to whom they would like to direct the referral, that referral can be placed directly by the Metro Referral Associate to the receiving agent or broker by using the customer/client referral form.
