Mia Burch Welcomes 2020 Gold Team

Greetings fellow Gold Team members,

I would like to take the opportunity to recognize and thank Allison Stine for her superb leadership in 2019 as well as Traci Hopkins, Director of Corporate Programs and Events, for her tireless work, event after event. It truly is a privilege and a blessing to work with such a remarkable group.

It is comforting to know that we have a leadership team with an agent-centric focus. As our company founder, Wes Foster, said when he started Long & Foster in 1968, “Long & Foster is successful because its people are.” This value statement is exemplified by our leadership team year after year. My sincere thanks to Gary, Boomer, and Jackie for always being available and listening to agent feedback, in addition to constantly developing the cutting-edge tools that assist agents in achieving excellence!

Now, if we can just do something about the Rental service… 🙂

Mark Your Calendars!
As we look forward to another great year, please mark your calendars for our two exciting, must-attend events:

  1. Crab Feast – July 16, 2020, at the Chesapeake Beach Club
  2. Fall ReCharge – October 13-15, 2020 at the Hyatt Chesapeake where we held our first-ever Fall ReCharge event with tremendous success!

Giving Back
I would like to present two charities for 2020, both of which have special connections with our own agents, including myself:

Ronald McDonald House: There is nothing scarier than knowing your child has a serious illness or injury and needs to go to a hospital or facility far from home. Unfortunately, this happens far too often and Avalon, NJ agent, Brian Reed’s daughter, Devon, has her story featured on their website. The house provides a temporary residence for families whose children are receiving treatment at area hospitals. Families are stronger when they are together and can focus on the health of their child and the organization ensures no one is turned away for inability to pay. For those who have volunteered before, you’ll know that what you receive is much greater than anything you give. Hearing the stories of the trials and triumphs that families experience are uplifting and distressing, leaving no dry eyes and making you profoundly grateful for your family. Find Devon’s story attached to this letter below.

Good Neighbors Inc: Our Greenville, DE office agent, Teri Sensing, is serving on the board of the non-profit, Good Neighbors. She was also the recipient of the New Castle County Board of Realtor’s Good Neighbor award in 2018. Our office volunteered to put a new roof and replaced windows on a low-income family’s home in 2019. The organization makes a difference in their neighborhoods by providing financial guidance and home repairs to disadvantaged homeowners. Their mission is to restore hope and dignity for those who don’t have the resources to repair their homes.

If you’ve heard “to whom much is given, much will be required,” we are held responsible for what we have. Trust me, this is coming from someone who grew up with no indoor plumbing 🙂 Please share all photos of what’s happening in your Region regarding the Gold Team event, service days, and referrals onto the Gold Team Facebook page. We can make a difference!

Lastly, I am truly honored and excited to serve as the 2020 Gold Team President and look forward to working with the Gold Team Board, Traci, Gary, Boomer and Jackie and others to achieve excellence.

Sincerely,

Mia Burch
Gold Team President 2020
