I want to take this opportunity to thank Cindy Souza for her outstanding leadership in 2018 and Traci Hopkins for another great year of programs and fun. Can you imagine ever wanting to work with any company other than Long & Foster? Where else could you possibly have the opportunity to sit down with the leadership of a company in such an intimate setting, hear their vision for the next 50 years and receive your feedback?
For that, I would like to send a very special shout out to Gary Scott, Boomer Foster and Jackie Thiel! Thank you for your excellent leadership and for the tremendous amount of time and energy invested in the Gold Team; it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Crab Feast: I am pleased to announce the Gold Team Crab Feast will be held July 17, 2019, at the Chesapeake Beach Club.
ReCharge: The 2019 ReCharge event will be held Sept. 17-19, 2019, at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. If you are not familiar with this historic and magnificent resort hotel, check out their website.
Giving Back in the Year Ahead
As I write this letter, three more U.S. soldiers were killed in Afghanistan in a war that has been raging since 2001. One of the soldiers killed today was only 8 years old when this war began.
Why is this on my mind today, and what does this have to do with my leadership of the 2019 Gold Team? The Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware, just a short 40-minute drive from my home in Rehoboth Beach, is home to the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operation, which will receive the remains of these brave soldiers. The families of these soldiers will likely stay at the Fisher House.
The Fisher House for Families of the Fallen at Dover Air Force Base is a unique facility among the Fisher House Foundation’s other facilities currently operating worldwide. It is the only one of its kind designated for families of the fallen and is also managed by uniformed personnel. The Fisher House in Dover provides short-term lodging to families who travel to Dover to witness the dignified transfer of their loved ones and is built with private donations.
I am pleased to announce that the 2019 designated charity of the Gold Team is the Fisher House for Families of the Fallen. I look forward to providing you with more information about this amazing charity. In the meantime, please feel free to view their website.

In keeping with the theme, I would also like to invite all our Gold Team members to provide us with your photos and information throughout the year, as you participate in your own various fundraising events, including Long & Foster’s Community Service Day.
