Ralph Joseph Edinger, formerly of Washington, D.C., and Greenbelt, Maryland, passed away on July 1, 2017. Edinger previously served as a manager and real estate agent with Long & Foster for more than 30 years.
Edinger graduated from McKinley Technology High School in Washington, D.C. He served his country during the Korean War; he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1953. Immediately after, he returned to Washington, D.C., to begin his mortgage banking career. He attended the University of Maryland and graduated from the school of mortgage banking at Northwestern University. Following his graduation, Edinger spent 23 years at Walker & Dunlop. During his time there, he served as the vice president and manager of the loan administration department.
After working many years in the mortgage industry, Edinger decided to become a Realtor. Skilled in the real estate industry, he served as a manager and an agent for Long & Foster Real Estate, and he retired with over 30 years of service.
Edinger was an active member of the Greenbelt American Legion Post 136 and of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in College Park, Maryland.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor Brabble, two daughters, Nancy (Larry) Campbell and Lucy (Bruce) Kallal, and two grandsons, Phillip Kallal and William Kallal.
